BROOKLYN, N.Y., Aug. 3, 2010 – Residents of Prospect Park Residence a full-service independent senior living community, recently enjoyed an outing to the New York Aquarium in Coney Island. The residents toured the world-famous aquarium and got a fisheye view of the marine life exhibits, from penguins and otters to fish that inhabit different ecosystems. Taking in the aquatic sights were (front row, left to right) Edith Cohen, Ruth Willig, Trina Kruger, Wilfred Milmoe, Walter Brown, and Albert Haber; and (back row) Susan Muchinsky.
Director of Activities Theresa Hines, whose busy department schedules the weekly outings, noted that "Prospect Park Residence is well situated in the heart of Brooklyn, which enables us to schedule trips to area museums, theatres and other sites of interest to our residents. The aquarium trip was very popular, so we hope to go back there this summer."
Prospect Park Residence, located at One Prospect Park West at Grand Army Plaza, plans weekly field trips for residents to local cultural, historic and entertainment venues; there are also weekly visits to different restaurants throughout Brooklyn to sample the borough’s diverse cuisine choices.
